Thanks for a wonderful, clean campground. The area is clean and it was great to look at the stars. We stopped here initially just to get off the highway, but if we return to Castlegar, we will stay here (and recommend you to others).
Sincerely,
Tracy & Bob M. |

Hi Liz and Dale:
We had a wonderful stay at your park and your hospitality was the greatest.
Being our first trip to the Kootenays only wants us to return for another
visit. Hopefully, next year. Of course, Roamin' and Rhoda (my vizslas or
red kids) really enjoyed their daily walks up the mountain, a great place
to walk and exercise the dogs. Castlegar is a very nice place and we thoroughly
enjoyed the area. I also found a wonderful place for the dogs to swim and
run in a field. The West Kootenay Kennel Club have a very nice venue at
the Pass Creek Exhibition Grounds. Their obedience trials were well organized
, for a small club. Looking forward to returning to your area as you made
our stay the "greatest".

"The Squamish gang had a great time on our bike trip. The weather was
favorable, hot at times which necessitated an early start. Other than at
Tunnel, we were in the lake or river so it was great. Thank you so much for
your hospitality, and send-off. The pictures are great. You are welcome to
use this email in your promotional materials. Thanks again. Linda" |

"Thanks for the
lovely hospitality. We ended up staying last night in Pincher Creek. - Alberta
has been rocked by snow and storms the whole time we were gone. Anyway,
thank you again & the place was lovely and we definitely had
a wonderful time. Sincerely, Yvonne & Charles Cseppento Medicine Hat, AB" |
Sept 9, 2002 Dear Liz & Dale:
My husband and I stayed
at
your campground last Saturday night (site #4) and now that we are back home
from our long vacation across Canada, I thought I would let you know how much
we enjoyed our brief stay at your place. You are to be commended on the
cleanliness of your campground and facilites, the pleasant, grassy RV sites,
and I particularly appreciated your 'hands on' approach towards all your
customers which we did not see much of anywhere else we stayed across Canada.
Regards, Ellen W. |

July 23, 2002 "Hi Dale and Liz, This is Gilbert. I don't
know if you remember us, but we will never forget you.
About a month ago we stayed at your campground on our way to Vancouver.
It was me, my wife and our
two daughters. We are from El Paso, Texas and we were
traveling in a black Ford Explorer towing a popup- trailer. I had just
bent the back trailer bumper and
had to kick it back into place. We had a great night
there, thanks. Wish we had stayed longer. I logged onto your website and
without saying a word I asked my
younger daughter, "do you know who these people are?" She started jumping up
and down and said "Yes daddy, those are those very nice people from our first
night in Canada!" Thanks for everything, but above all, thanks for creating
some memories for us especially our daughters.

girls." |
July 9, 2002 "Dear Dale & Liz!
Your kindness is
greatly appreciated Your card and cake and suggestion of a different venue
for eating out helped make our 50th wedding anniversary a memoriable occasion.
We've enjoyed your campground and your friendliness - Thanks! Rita and Ralph

Dear Dale & Liz, Doris and I wish you a
very pleasant Christmas and a prosperous New Year in your new venture. We were
surprised to receive a Christmas card from you as we only stayed with you for
one night on our way to Victoria. You were one of the +/- 25 parks we stayed in
on our 40 day cross Canada/USA trip. It is odd but Doris's sister had remarked
that she really liked Castlegar. For us, it had merely been a stop over. Still,
I remember vividly talking to the two of you. You were very personable. We hope
that you will do well in your new venture. If we ever come your way again, we
will make sure to spend a few days at your camp and get to know Castlegar
itself. We hope to leave for a 55 day Mexican caravan in early February. Once
again, out best wishes.

Hi Liz! Thanks very much for your wonderful
Christmas 'report'. I'm so pleased to hear that you and Dale are doing well and
enjoying new adventures. Your new place sounds wonderful. If Heather and I are
ever in your area, count on seeing us. I hope you both have a great Christmas
in your snowbound paradise. Think of us Vancouverites in the dismal rain! Best
regards, Bob and Heather." |

Dale & Liz: By now you should be Mr. and
Mrs. And what a special couple you make. Our best wishes for a very happy
marriage. We thought you would enjoy these pictures as much as we enjoyed
staying at your RV Park. We travelled 10,997 miles and staying at your park was
truly a highlight of our trip. It was so nice of you to have a welcome party
and invite us. Especially because cake is my favorite food!!! If we come back
your way we will certainly make it a point to stay with you again." .."Thanks
again for your hospitality at the Castlegar RV Park, we loved it.
Sincerely
Stan and Paula C." |

Day
5 - 8/21 - Grand Coulee to Castlegar OK - on to Castlegar! Here we found
the local Visitors Centre with Audrey, a wonderfully perky and helpful lady who
guided us through our first money exchange. Canada use $2 and $1 coins, known
respectively as Toonies and Loonies. She also guided us
to the Castlegar RV Park and Campground where for $18 CDN we had electricity
and water. Nice place! Dale and Liz Monrad, a couple our age, had purchased the
park exactly one week before we got there. He had retired from a high-stress
job in high-tech and was as excited as a kid at Christmas time. Ive
lost weight, my blood pressure is down, and Im sleeping at night.
Its wonderful! he told us. With me it would be the other way
around, for I dont really mind fighting with computers, but fixing things
really stresses me out! - Bill and Diane E |

Dale and Liz - Thank you for the Christmas
card! Our stay with you last summer was a most pleasant
one. We were there just one week after you had taken over the park, and
we have wondered how things
were going. From your note and web site, it looks like
they're going great. From your place, our first ever night in Canada, we
continued following the
Columbia River. On September 10 we found its source at
Columbia Lake. Here it was only about 10-15 meters wide and about 50-60
cm deep - quite different from
its 7 KM width where it enters the Pacific Ocean. I'm
putting the details of our trip on the web and can be seen at: http://home.attbi.com/~welliott21
Thanks
for being a neat part of our summer! - Bill Elliott |

dentist in such short notice.
See you next summer -

Thinking of the snow slowed our memory banks down. Do hope we can get up next
summer and spend more time in your delightful area. Have a nice Xmas and best
